Customized Programmes
In a recent project the client's project team had to execute against extremely tight deadlines but was effectively stuck in planning mode and unable to gain agreement on seemingly conflicting criteria for critical path tasks. Despite knowing they were well behind plan and in an impossible situation the client was effectively in a deadlock. Coalface was engaged to quickly develop a workable solution for the most critical-path tasks and engage with the implementation teams to execute on the solution, thus breaking the deadlock.
For another project we leveraged the client's chosen eLearning platform to deliver a series of web-based training events to channel partners and sales associates in India, China and across Asia Pacific. For each of these projects Coalface worked on the overall training design, collaborated with the subject matter experts to put together actual content, and then worked with the presenters and hosts individually and collectively on their presentation, delivery and audience interaction.
Here are some examples of areas where we have conducted customized assignments
- Facilitation of large scale events; road-shows; blended learning
- Commercial negotiations; mediation
- Strategic planning sessions; business reviews
- Solution and consultative selling
- Sales-force reorganisation
- Market research; round-tables; white papers
- Coalface ‘Voices of Experience'; Coalface Café
Facilitation
Coalface has provided facilitation for a wide range of assignments; from point-interventions to road-shows and large scale events; face to face and virtual.
Typically we are engaged to obtain the desired outcomes from meetings where top management is involved and the opportunity costs are high. For example, business reviews and strategy workshops. Other examples include designing and facilitating large-scale events (face to face or via the Internet) with hundreds of people from diverse backgrounds, seminars and road-shows.
The second area we apply our expertise is to manage interventions to minimise the risk of a poor outcomes. For example, where there is potential or real conflict between parties, a deadlock, or where some parties are considered difficult to deal with.
Mediation and Conflict Resolution
Mediation is a voluntary process using a neutral third party. The mediator facilitates negotiations between the parties with a view to resolving their dispute privately and in an amicable manner.
With the increased use of mediation as an alternative dispute resolution processes to litigation, our negotiators are increasingly are being called on to act as mediators or advisors to parties in conflict.
